At Spring Grove, our caring staff members believe that remembering loved ones we have lost is a beautiful way to experience healing alongside family and friends. The holiday season is an especially poignant time to gather with loved ones in remembrance. Our funeral home’s annual remembrance ceremony provides families throughout Cincinnati and Hamilton County with a unique opportunity to pay tribute to the loved ones they miss.
Holiday Remembrance Service 2023
This year’s Holiday Remembrance Service takes place on December 7 at our Spring Grove Funeral Home (Main Location) from 6-7:30 p.m. Attendees will hear a message of encouragement and hope, listen to live musical performances, and take part in a tree-lighting ceremony. Following the event, light refreshments will be served. This service is a wonderful opportunity to gather in fellowship with others and honor the loved ones who are no longer with us.
The Beauty of Remembering
The holiday season can be a particularly difficult time of year for those grieving the death of a loved one. Taking the time to honor a loved one during the holidays can have a healing effect and provide comfort in grief. Some families choose to forego the usual holiday celebrations after the death of a loved one, while others find peace in upholding time-honored traditions. Others may choose to honor their loved one by cooking their favorite holiday meal or taking part in the festive activities they most enjoyed when they were living. Whether you decide to create a new holiday tradition or uphold the old, you’ll likely feel closer to your loved one when doing so in a spirit of remembrance.
Sharing Stories of Your Loved One
One of the most inspiring things about our annual remembrance ceremony is families gathering to share stories of their loved ones. Following the tree lighting ceremony, we welcome those in attendance to enjoy light refreshments and fellowship with others. During this time, some families share favorite photos of their loved ones as a way of connecting with others who are grieving. We encourage sharing with others about your loved one, as this helps further their legacy and keep their memory alive. However, if you prefer not to share, that is perfectly fine. Wherever you are in your grief, we encourage you to attend our Holiday Remembrance Service on December 7 to honor your loved one. It’s an evening of remembrance you’ll carry with you for years to come.
